Happy Earth Day!

I love that we are starting this week off with celebrating Mother Earth in all her glory. In astrology I feel like the Earth often does not get discussed enough, as we tend to focus more on the planets influencing us down here, rather than how the Earth herself is influencing us all of the time. We benefit from finding ways to honor our divine mother who gives herself to all of us regardless of how she has been treated over the centuries. This is a time to acknowledge how our own environmental awareness impacts her in our corner of the world, and ask ourselves what we can do to align ourselves with honoring her and all of the creatures we share this space with.

Our physical bodies are an extension of her and we benefit from also evaluating what our relationship is to our bodies and whether we are honoring ourselves positively during this time.

The Moon in Sagittarius has us longing for more out of life, and we may feel a need to expand and break free from structures or mundane routines today. It is positive, since it is Earth day, to take some time to spend outside and in nature, whether its on your lunch break, or after work.

We may feel a lot of intense energy around our mental and internal process. We could feel impulsive or reactive during the hours of this transit and it is important that we try to be self aware about what we are putting out into our energy sphere at this time. Try moving heat through the body in a healthy way to get some of the tension worked through.

As if our Moon in Sagittarius and Opposition to Mars wasn't enough energy to have you feeling impulsive and spontaneous, the Sun meeting up with Uranus today could have us longing for change more than ever. On a personal level we are experiencing changes already, like the Tower card in the Tarot, a lot of these changes may be out of our control, and we may feel like it is hard keeping up with ourselves and our own lives right now. It is important that we embrace these changes and try to see this time as a large learning process. Resistance to change will only make things harder, and we benefit from being open to where we are being guided to listen to what is trying to break through. This energy will influence our sphere for the rest of the week.

We are inclined to feeling ungrounded in the evening. We also could feel a large need for escapism from reality the whole day today. So many of these transits have us needing something new out of life, or feeling like we need more. It is a dangerous territory to be in when we fall into the illusion that more will complete us in some way. The lesson here is to learn to move with the winds of change, while also feeding the need for spontaneity without losing yourself in the illusion that more or change is what is going to make you happy. It may help lead you to happiness, but happiness is a state of mind not something we find outside of ourselves. This transit could have us over indulging in some way or not seeing things clearly.

The Moons detriment is in Capricorn, and this can feel like we are putting a cork in our feelings for the time being, or shutting the door on some emotional work we are doing, so that we can focus more on getting grounded and pragmatic in our approach to things. This might be positive if we feel we have been living a little too much in fantasy land, or if it has been hard to keep our emotions contained. Use this energy as a way to focus on getting things done in the mundane and try to find healthy ways to stay grounded.
