Power and Pain, Your Weekly Forecast 7/13-7/19

Hello magical beings! Peace and love upon you as this new week unfolds!
This week our Sun makes an opposition to both Pluto and Jupiter, which happen to be retrograde, giving a flavor of the week focused all around POWER! Power is an interesting concept when it comes to humanity and how we define success. I would imagine that if we were to do a survey on what the average American’s perception of power is, we would expect to see a correlation to how much money or property you have been able to accrue in your lifetime. While money does enable quite a bit of power within our lives, power as a concept is quite deeper. The influence we are able to have on others is often another indication of power, which is why I believe social media and the obsession with likes and followers is such a huge focus of millennial culture. The amount of attention we receive is also viewed often as a source of fulfillment that can in turn make us have an inflated sense of self that leads to a feeling of empowerment. Where do we find our relationship to power in our birth charts? The obvious place to look is Pluto, but we can also find our relationship to power in the Sun and Jupiter placements within our natal chart as well.
Power holds different frequencies depending on how it is yielded within the consciousness. We could see emphasis on obtaining money and property as the ultimate fast track to obtaining power, but if we look at history, the track record of those who put their eggs in that basket, things don’t always seem to pan out long term for those people. Jeffrey Epstien is a great example of someone who was so charismatic, he became the ultimate con-man which in turn led him to obtaining quite a bit of financial and sexual power, which eventually led to his demise. I am not saying everyone who obtains wealth, or success will have a bad outcome or is evil, but when our need for power over rules ethical treatment of others, the karmic lessons can manifest as a complete downward spiral into oblivion.
I find it unfortunate that material wealth, and sexual attention are typically the most obvious and dominating factors when it comes to the average person's perception of power, when power is so much more than any of these things.
True power, or should I say, true empowerment, can be found on a much deeper vibrational level, where we experience complete and absolute contentment with self regardless of physical circumstances or short term accolades. The Magician card in the Tarot is where we first learn of our power, and our ability to influence the world around us. We recognize that we have a mind, body, spirit, and soul that connects us to everything and enables us to yield our will towards any desire we want. When we walk through the lessons of the 22 cards in the Major Arcana, we find at the end of the trail, that true wisdom lies in complete mastery of self.
What does mastery of self mean? Mastery of self through the eyes of the Tarot requires a grounded and patient approach to life that is not tied to a need for validation from the outside world. We realize that we are one with the ALL and that is the one truth that can empower us ALL to be in alignment with everything that IS. The 7 steps of spiritual alchemy is one way that we obtain the philosophers stone and reach personal empowerment in its truest manifestation.
This week, we are given many opportunities to heal our relationship to the frequency of power in all its forms. Mars making a conjunction to Chiron in Aries on Tuesday enables this ability for active and intentional healing. Study the location of Pluto in your birth chart, and ask yourself if you see any correlation between where you struggle to find power in your own life, or if these are things you have already healed within yourself, and how you can use your wisdom to help empower others.

Monday 7/13
Moon in Aries
Moon void of course square Saturn rx in Capricorn 8:54 am
Moon enters Taurus 10:34 am
Moon sextile Mercury in Cancer 9:56 pm
We start our week out with the Moon exalted in Taurus. This is one of my favorite energies for the Moon as it enables us to more easily connect to Earth energy which helps us get grounded in our physical bodies. This is a positive day to spend time in nature, connecting with plants, cooking healthy and good comforting foods, and honoring your physical vessel with self care. Do something sweet for your body today, you won’t regret it!
Tuesday 7/14
Moon in Taurus
Sun in Cancer opposition Jupiter rx in Capricorn 12:58 am
Mars in Aries conjunct Chiron rx in Aries 2:07 am
Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus 7:14 am
Our Sun makes an opposition to Jupiter retrograde in the wee hours of the morning, and we will feel this frequency of energy over the next couple days. This energy can inflate our sense of self, where we may feel holier than thou in regard to whatever our perceptions of self may be. But with Mars making a conjunction with Chiron retrograde in Aries, we could easily walk smack dab into a lesson of humility just as fast as we reached that sense of self pride.
Confidence and arrogance are a fine line for some people, personally a lesson I had to learn the hard way when I was in my early 20s. The story of the “Flight of Icarus” is something I always think about when it comes to Sun/Jupiter contacts. How do we keep a strong sense of self while also remaining humble? Sometimes the way others perceive us is inaccurate, and our own light, or confidence can make someone who is struggling with these issues, lash out at us or project their own lack of confidence onto us in an unhealthy way, sometimes causing us to make ourselves smaller to make others more comfortable. This dynamic isn’t helpful either. We must learn to have love for ourselves, without competing with another, or diminishing someone else. We also must learn to not project our own insecurities or lack of self worth onto others who may appear more confident than we ourselves feel. This is a dance that is hard to navigate.
These transits this week may bring up issues regarding self worth. While some of us could hold a lot of optimism, others may feel completely beaten down by lack of self worth, or hard lessons of humility. There is no right, or wrong way to experience the self. All we can do is be mindful and open to what lessons are presenting themselves to us and working through our own inner narrative and whether it is helping or hurting us.
Opportunities for personal growth present themselves this week, we benefit remaining humble, while building ourselves up!
