Spring Equinox,

an Astrological New Year

Wow folks, I am at a loss for words when it comes to knowing how to discuss what is currently happening in the world. This week, astrologically, is one of the most powerful weeks of the year. The card pictured here is from Devany of Serpent Fire's "Sigil Deck." Eternal Return symbolizes Death in the Major Arcana, and how perfect to pull for our Spring Equinox. When I thought of the tarot cards for the week, Death was the first one that came to me, so pulling this was extra special.

I have been following the unfoldment of this pandemic since January thanks to Evelyn keeping me in the loop, and I am grateful we did because it allowed for me to mentally prepare for what I never could have imagined seeing in my lifetime. A lot of social media accounts I follow in the spiritual community are trying to take initiative in offering guidance, information, and tips to everyone in regard to this global crisis. I have had a hard time feeling confident in doing this because I honestly don’t feel educated enough on pandemics to tell you all anything. All I know is that it is ALWAYS beneficial to have emergency food, first aid, vitamins, medicine, and water stored for any chance of a large emergency happening in your community.  As well, it is always beneficial to practice good hygiene and take care of yourself.

While our health is important, I think what is causing the most stress for me is the state of our economy. All of us seem to be affected by the closure of businesses. As someone who is opening a business during all of this, I feel the stress and anxiety of how I am going to pay my bills and get through all of this. It is not a fun position to be in, but I am trying to see the silver lining. Before I moved down here, my tarot cards told me I did not need to “hurry” or rush through this process, which at the time felt counter intuitive, I now am understanding why my cards were saying that to me, as this whole thing has completely changed everything about how we planned on proceeding forward during this time, it really has slowed everything down. Besides the financial hardships we may all be facing, there is a bigger lesson happening that is beneficial to the world on a massive scale.

The cracks in the system are highlighted, and we are seeing more than ever what we need to do as a collective to empower and help each other through this difficult time. We are seeing where our government is failing to protect us, and hopefully this can push us as a people to rise above the system and take action where our leaders are not. I am sure a lot of us are experiencing heightened levels of anxiety during all of this. As someone who struggles with anxiety and existential depression, I find myself feeling validated in my intuitive impulse to want to isolate and avoid reality. As a Pisces Moon, isolating and social distancing tends to be something I gravitate towards naturally, and any excuse I have to not leave my house is something I embrace.

But the problem with cutting ourselves off from others, is that our perceptions of reality can become skewed and our fear can manifest into parts of our subconscious that can be detrimental to our mental health. Humans on a biological level benefit from connection with each other. Unlike any other time period that we know of, the benefit we have as a people during this pandemic, is the beauty for all of us to be able to connect through the internet. With so much energy in Pisces starting the week out, our perceptions can be distorted and we can be easily deceived by the media or swayed into believing or thinking things that may not be entirely true. It is important to be discerning during this time regardless of what is happening in the world, use common sense, rational thinking, and get in front of any potential problems now. This is a great time for meditation and connecting to the spiritual and ethereal realms in this isolation period. As someone who enjoys a lot of alone time at home, I decided to give you all a list of some ideas for activities you can do at home, besides just watching TV or obsessively scrolling the web:

Moon enters Capricorn 9:25 am

Moon sextile Mercury in Pisces 9:49 am

Moon trine Uranus in Taurus 5:33 pm

Last Quarter Moons symbolize a time of endings. We are asked to let go and release previous belief systems during this time.

We start our week out with the Moon making its way into Capricorn, the sign of its detriment. With the Moon in Capricorn, we feel a need to take a practical and pragmatic approach to life. The Covid 19 pandemic has all of us thinking about our finances, economy, health, and how we are going to get through the next few weeks. Mercury makes its way into Pisces for the 2nd time this year, also the sign of its detriment. With both the Moon and Mercury in detriment, we may have a difficult time making sense of how we feel. This could be a very emotional time for us all, it is important to find healthy ways to work through our feelings while still being rational and realistic about what is currently possible. Our sense of self may be tested with the Moon making a Square to Chiron in Aries in the evening hours. Insecurities could come up and we may have to acknowledge underlying fears we have been avoiding.
