Blessings mystics and seekers!
Our first full week of January is upon us and boy do we start it out with a bang! This week overall is a huge energy shift. We have Mars moving into Taurus on Wednesday, which alone feels huge. Mars has been in its ruling sign of Aries since the end of June 2020. While Mars in Aries helps for us to power through challenges and help us assert our will into areas of our lives that require a boost, it can also add a lot of aggression and frustration into the mix. For me on a personal level, Mars in Aries helped me push through the rest of the year. It gave me that boost in energy I needed that I felt I had lacked for the beginning of the pandemic. It helped me get into boss mode. I appreciated our Mars in Aries time, because it was a hard year, and I feel that boost of energy was much needed. Mars will be in the fixed sign of Taurus until March 3rd.
Come Friday, Mercury our planet of communication moves into Aquarius, and Venus our planet of relationship moves into Capricorn.
Mercury in Aquarius could have us feeling a need to connect with the collective on a more personal level. Our perceptions of community may have shifted quite a bit over the last year and we could feel more of a sense of duty to involve ourselves in politics, community outreach programs, and conversations when it comes to social change.
Mercury making some harmonious aspects to Saturn and Jupiter may help for us to expand our perceptions of reality and what is possible for us at this time.
Venus in the practical earth sign of Capricorn making a harmonious aspect to Mars in Taurus soon after, could have us working on practical matters when it comes to our financial and work areas of our lives. This is a good time to make plans and get things for the future in order as best we can.
Venus in the sign of Capricorn also tends to learn more into traditional value systems in regard to relationships. People who have Venus in Capricorn in their birth charts often enjoy being courted in traditional ways. We could during this time reflect on ways that tradition is comforting, and ways it is restrictive and outdated. This blend of Capricorn and Aquarian energy hitting the frequency of January will have us questioning what modes of reality do we save, and what do we do away with? On all fronts.

We start the day off with our Moon in the productive sign of Virgo. I saw a meme recently that made me laugh…it said something along the lines of “here is to all the people who put their New Year's resolutions off until Monday.” Well, today is a great day to start off on a good note with yourself if you haven’t already! I know for me, having a routine at least 4-5 days out of the week, and 2-3 chill days is super beneficial for my mental and physical well being. All work and no play makes me unhappy for sure, but I definitely need structure and discipline and I enjoy it. Get your week started out on a good note by meeting some goals you have when it comes to having a nice little morning routine for yourself that sets you up well for the day.
Mercury makes a conjunction to Pluto today asking us to be open to perceptions around our views of success and what defines success to be transmuted and transformed. The way we communicate about our material progress may need some reflection, and we do well being open to seeing a different perspective when it comes to how we push towards order and structure in our lives.

Last quarter Moons are a powerful time for reflection and release. With the Moon being in the cardinal air sign of Libra, which is the sign ruling the 7th house of relationships, we may be reflecting a lot on relationships and their dynamics. This is a positive and powerful time to let go of people, or attachments that we have to people, in our lives that are not servin us. Maybe we do not need to let go of the person entirely, but a shift in the energy needs to happen, and certain patterns within ourselves need to be released. Sometimes we project or have expectations of others that are really things we need to be finding in ourselves. This is a positive time to ask yourself if you are creating healthy relationship dynamics or perpetuating unhealthy codependent ones. Something we all benefit from doing every so often in our lives.
Mars finally enters Taurus! I started out this blog post discussing how Mars in Aries over the last 6 months inspired me to push through the end of the year in a positive way. With Mars in Taurus until early March, we benefit from focusing our willpower on our material and mundane world when it comes to the work we do, our health, and our finances. This may be a creative time for many people as Taurus is an extremely artistic sign. I look forward to working hard in the new year and finding ways to set my future self up for success as best as I can. I hope you all benefit from this time!

Today is an interesting day as there is a lot of potential for us to be extremely inspired and creative if we are able to channel our energy in that direction. We may also feel motivated with fitness and health goals. Our Moon in Sagittarius gives us a need for expansion and freedom from mundane responsibilities, but with the Moon in the waning phase, we may have for fun watching a documentary or reading a book that expands our minds, rather than leaving the house. Mercury conjunct Saturn in Aquarius could have us feeling a need to connect with our sense of community or friends and discuss belief systems that matter to us.
