Happy New Gregorian Calendar Year!

Coming back from a holiday hiatus for the first Full Moon of the New Year, I took a break the last couple of weeks but did post the week ahead day to day breakdown on the blog for the week of the 15th in case you want to go back and take a look here’s the link: Weekly Astros December 15 - 21

The last week of the year always does bring up moments of reflection and nostalgia for the last 365 days we spent in this year of the snake but I am always apt to remind myself that the Gregorian calendar serves as a mere numerical marker of time which is very much 2 dimensional and lacking in the richness of our own experiences. The numbers of the days come and go and to some extent tend to put me into a groundhogs day liminal headspace if I rely too heavily on these digits. I do trust in the energetic principals of numbers, and fully respect notion that our universe is made up of a string of numbers which can be decoded / interpreted but in all honesty if I sit with them for too long a sort of tunnel vision ensues.

For the purpose of divination let’s consider the numerology of 2026. We are rounding out a 9 year which isn’t necessarily an outwardly productive number as it deals more with breaking down and shedding structures that have been fully formed. 9 is a round number, visually and also mathematically, it predicates the last of a sequence before the numerical structure starts over with a new potential 10. 2026 is a 1 year, 2+0+2+6 = 10 or simply “1” when fully reduced but the number 10 is significant also as it includes both the beginning of a thing and also the infinite potential. In the tarot 1 = the Magician and 0 = the Fool. The Fool takes the first step before the path is laid out and the Magician learns the art of resource management for the sake of manifestation. The Fool sets out with only the bare minimum to survive, a satchel, a loyal companion and the Sun at his back, he walks into Magician territory when he was acquired the knowledge of what he still needs to continue on his journey. This coming year will be filled with trial and error as we forge a path that has yet to be defined, identifying what it is that we lack in order to attain it later on. Some of us might feel raw, naked, and untethered with no strong ego attachments since 2025 drained out a lot of those identifiers. It is within this year that we will search for and acquire our magicians robe.

The Full Moon in Cancer culminates this week on the 3rd (Saturday) at 2:02 am and will uncover for us some uncomfortable truths about the ways in which we have built barriers and walls through intellectualizing emotions. The Moon in Cancer will be conjunct Jupiter, exposing us to our own untethered emotional range, Jupiter is making those internal experiences loud, and larger than life! It is important to feel and find validation yes but it may become clear that not all feelings are actually valid but rather the body’s old storyline replaying a trigger from the past that is no longer relevant. There’s an interesting thing that happens in talk therapy when we hyper focus on our feelings and replay an emotionally charged scenario, letting the body relive it weekly with no conclusions. It can feel productive in the moment to be heard and find a comforting eye in another, to purge and process the feelings that have been stored inside for months, days, years, and sometimes decades but after a while it can become a hinderance to growth, acceptance, and healing to dwell on the same story continually affirming to your nervous system that it is still a lived experience. Intellectualizing emotions through trendy catch phrases has a way of offering some relief but it also at the same time can depersonalize the actual emotional experience, and when used over and over in the collective and in marketing takes on a new meaning. This Full Moon can show us where we have internalized the intellectualization of the collective’s emotional world, allowing us to disengage with the rules that have been adopted by the mainstream therapizing of normal everyday life. One person’s red flag might be another person’s relief, kink, or experimentation.

Chiron in Aries which is stationing direct on the 2nd just before the Full Moon has been evolving the self-help and self-awareness dialogue we’ve been exploring as a collective over the last 7.5 years. This strong focus on the self and the individual experience which has laid really productive and useful groundwork for people to become more aware of their own drives, needs, and unique identities has also promoted hyper independence where loneliness has become an epidemic. Chiron is now on its last leg in Aries before entering Taurus in June, this last stretch has us reflecting on the ways in which we have become more confident, empowered, and self-reliant but it will also show us where we can now soften those hard edges we felt we needed in order to fiercely protect the growth that was so tender. The Full Moon in Cancer will help us to begin the process of identifying where we can soften, let more in, what boundaries we have established that were necessary at one point in our lives but are now associated to an old story that doesn’t reflect our current reality.

12/29 Monday

The Moon enters Taurus today grounding out emotions with predictability, creating a container that offers a stable place to explore and understand them through a practical lens. Mars sextiles the North Node while Mercury and Saturn hit each other in harsh reality. A truce comes forward after adjustments are made to understand alternative beliefs and systems. We can also be negotiating with ourselves about whether or not certain rituals are necessary to use as a coping mechanism anymore. Whatever energy we are putting into throughout the day reflects movement towards a positive forward direction that over time will develop as something sustainable.

MOON -> Taurus at 3:57 am, square Pluto, trine Venus, trine Sun, sextile NN, trine Mars

MARS sextile NN

MERCURY square Saturn

12/30 Tuesday

The Moon in Taurus is lavishing in-between Jupiter and Saturn like goldilocks with just the right amount of everything. We seek and also find the perfect balance between needs and comforts in a blue zone of just enough. This is a good day to set aside time to acknowledge and appreciate what we have in life whether it’s good people, the basics like a roof and food in the fridge, or stability in other areas. Generosity moves in waves and it feels better to share our blessings with others. We may also take into account the items and objects that we have in excess and choose to donate it or give it to someone we know who appreciate it.

12/31 Wednesday

The last day of 2025! The Moon is conjunct Uranus for one last surprising hurrah before ingressing into Gemini inciting restlessness that seeks novelty and good friends. The Moon will trine Pluto and then square the nodes appropriately stirring up deep reflections on our current life path and nostalgic memories mostly of the people and relationships that we encountered throughout the year. We may make decisions out of left field as an attempt for one ‘last’ experience or memory making opportunity that brings us into unexpected circumstances. Plans and communications are all over the place and it can be difficult to stick to one route or feel into just one path.

1/1 Thursday

It’s the first day of the new calendar year and oftentimes people associate this with new beginnings, however time is not linear but a continual and never ending cycle. The Sun sextiles the north node and trines the south node while Mercury ingresses into logic driven Capricorn. This is a good day to reflect on all of one’s accomplishments and take into account how much has happened in the last 365 days. Even though time isn’t linear it is still a nice ritual to track our progress. There can be a bit of a solemn energy for the day as the Moon squares Saturn, possibly feeling the pressure of wanting to be a bit further along in life or noticing the work that still needs to be done but with Mercury’s pragmatic approach, lists and to-dos can help it feel more manageable.

SUN sextile NN

MERCURY square Neptune, Mercury -> Capricorn at 1:10pm

VENUS sextile NN

1/2 Friday

The feelings are coming out today as the Moon enters Cancer and opposes Mercury. We’re having a hard time keeping it all in and sudden frustrations and miscommunications might precede an awkward conversation. Chiron stations direct which can trigger a necessary breakdown of understanding so that the Chironic wound becomes unmistakable in how it is being reflected back to us. This is a day to take it easy and be in observation mode more so than action oriented, especially since the Full Moon is taking up most of the emotional bandwidth.

1/3 Saturday

The Full Moon today is opposite Venus, Mars, and conjunct Jupiter. It is a Moon ripe with healing, heart expanding understanding and respect for those closest to us. Though the Astrology doesn’t necessarily coincide with the Queen of Swords, her energy is surrounding this lunation in that centers around communication, love, boundaries, and respect. It may be more clear with this Full Moon what it is that we need in order to feel respected in our relationships not just romantic but also familial and platonic. We may run into someone, a teacher, a stranger even, who teaches us what it means to be respected as an individual human that we want to emulate within our personal ships. Emotional intelligence and how to enact it is a revelatory event.

1/4 Sunday

The Moon is still bright and full, bringing to light relational truths which aim to expand for us what it means to live in the human condition. The Moon trines Neptune using story and prose as a way to process internal narratives that reflect our inner emotional worlds. Movies, art, music, and fantasy as thoroughfares for relating the internal realm offers a continuity in experience and validation. We’re seeking some kind of reward and a partner in crime today.

MOON sextile Uranus rx, trine Neptune, Moon -> Leo at 5:43am, opposite Pluto
