Blessed be on this Full Moon in Virgo!

What a wonderful way to start the week! Our Full Moon in Virgo hits at 10:48 am on Monday morning, Mercury finally stations direct in Aquarius at the end of the day. I don't know about you guys, but that Mercury retrograde period felt excruciatingly long. I am looking forward to having a break from that. I have to admit, I am having a hard time focusing on anything besides the news and current events around the outbreak of Covid 19, and not so surprisingly this whole thing ties into a lot of the current astro-climate, and pairs nicely with our Virgo Full Moon. As a lot of you have probably noticed, hand washing has been getting the spotlight over the past week. It reminds me of being at my grandma’s house as a kid ( she was a Pisces, happy bday gma), and she obsessively made us wash our hands. I remember being SO annoyed when I would be walking to the bathroom, washing my hands between every activity. She also would always tell us to gargle with salt water when we were sick, blegh! When I was a teenager, not washing my hands was an act of rebellion. Now, as an adult, and especially with the frenzy around Covid 19, I find myself frantically sanitizing and washing my hands every 30 minutes or so.
Ironically, having a Virgo mom, I also grew up with an obsessively clean mother. Cracking “Mommy Dearest” jokes has been a running theme with us, but I am finding the real joke is on me, because now my level of germophobia is reaching unprecedented levels. So how does this tie into astrology for the week? Virgo rules the 6th house of health, and with this particular Full Moon highlighting areas in which we have been neglecting personal hygiene as well as nutrition, we could find ourselves getting much more serious about our personal health and cleaning routines. Virgo can become a bit obsessive when it comes to health, and in this case, a lot of us are all trying to be more mindful of the spread of bodily fluids as well as the health of our immune system. I know for myself personally since the outbreak of Covid 19, I have been disinfecting and cleaning the surfaces of my car and my house more obsessively, upping my vitamin and supplement intake, as well as being more mindful with cleanliness when I leave the house.
There is a lot of hysteria and fear based literature going around on the internet, as well as the opposite- people trying to be more logical and practical about the matter. This polarity feels very Piscean and Virgo to me. On one end we have things potentially blown out of proportion, on another end we have over-rationalization.
As always it can be beneficial to find a balance between any opposing forces, I mean as they say, the universe seeks to balance itself.
Whether that’s true or not, this week we may feel a large sense of inspiration and motivation on some days, while feeling totally defeated and erratic the next. If you can slow things down and be more strategic about your game plan moving forward, without obsessing over trying to control every detail of any situation, you may find that sweet spot and get through this week unscathed and happier than ever.

Our level of optimism going into this week is in a good place if we allow it, although that perception may not last long as the days progress. Full Moons are a time for releasing energy and setting intentions towards manifesting things into our world. With our Full Moon in the mutable earth sign of Virgo, we benefit from focusing on our health, finances, and future goals. This is a good time for setting intentions towards those things, as well as releasing any energy that may be preventing us from moving forward in our projects right now.
With Mercury stationing direct in the evening, ( ruler of Virgo and Gemini) in the fixed sign of Aquarius, we could hopefully begin to see more action being taken by political organizations, government officials, and scientists in regard to figuring out progressive and new ways to deal with the ongoing political and health crisis we have in our world at this time. We as a people need to take action in asking for our government to step up in the ways we need, as well as taking initiative and responsibility over our own health and well being during this time. It is easy for us to lose our sense of reality right now and get caught up in all the “what ifs.” We do best to stay grounded in present reality and focusing on what we can do in the now, while still preparing for the future.

Lots of intense transits today that could cause us to feel ungrounded and insecure in our relationships and sense of self. We may feel like we are having a hard time making decisions on how we should be utilizing our time. Things may not go as we had planned. It is possible for erratic behavior today and poor decision making. We need to be mindful with how we treat others and the energy we are putting out into the world around us.
