Loving the Lion, Your Weekly Forecast 7/20-726
Updated: Jul 22, 2020

Happy Monday everyone! Peace and blessings as we dive into a new vibration of energy!
Starting Wednesday, it is officially Leo season. Happy Birthday to all my Leo’s babes, I love you.
For those of you who don't already know, I am a Leo, born on August 18th, 1989.
The Strength card is ruled by Leo in the Tarot, and in the Smith-Rider-Waite deck is ruled by the number 8. Leo is the fixed fire sign of the Zodiac, ruled by the Sun, and ruling the 5th house. Leo in medical astrology rules the heart and spine.
Leo season is obviously my favorite time of year, as Leo’s are known to enjoy basking in the rays of themselves and partying for the entire month! I have a lot of Leo’s in my family as well, which means that someone's birthday is typically happening every damn week of Leo season, so you best believe this time of year was a lot of parties and BBQ’s for me when I was growing up. Makes sense why I am so fond of this time of year!
I do feel that while we Leo’s tend to be obvious showboats to the rest of the world, we are often deeply misunderstood for that reason. People don’t really always get who we are under the surface, and we often get mistaken for self centered or egotistical. While that may be true for us in the early part of our lives, it stems from a deeper need to be loved in a genuine way, but also to share the love we often feel we have to give.
Leo wants to create a fun, sexy, romantic, playful and positive atmosphere for everyone to feel that love. Leo loves to share. But when Leo shares and does not feel that love or positivity in return, Leo becomes cold, distant, and retreats, which often looks self focused to those who perceive Leo as self centered, but it has more to do with a need for things to be reciprocated, than actually being selfish. Leo gets offended quite easily, and the biggest lesson for Leo is realizing that not everyone wants to bask in the rays of the Sun, and not everyone's version of the Sun, is the version that Leo is portraying.
If your Sun, Moon, or Rising sign is in Leo, the Leo archetype is working dominantly in your life. Chances are you need a lot of validation in ways that sometimes can feel over the top. Even if you are a more introverted Leo, the attention that the people you value in life give to you is incredibly important.
Because I am a Leo, I thought it would be fun to offer a quick guide on how to love your Leo friend or partner, so here it is!
10 ways to love your favorite Leo:
Compliment their talents! Leo loves to be “seen” for what they are proud of in life. Compliments go a long way!
Invite them to things! Do you get invited to a lot of things by your Leo friends? If not, it's probably because you don’t invite them to things as well. Leo’s measure of friendship is typically reflected in whether or not the love they give is appreciated, validated, and reciprocated. If you found yourself being included in a lot of activities with your Leo friend, only to later stop receiving invitations, chances are it was because it was not reciprocated. Leo wants to be invited, and Leo also wants to be able to come and go as they please. Invitations are a big one, whether they can make it or not, the act alone goes a long way for Leo.
Gifts that show them you pay attention to their interests. Leo see’s being seen as the ultimate compliment. When you show that you pay attention to their likes and interests by giving them something that is in line with who they feel they are on a deeper level, it shows them that you are a true friend.
Loyalty! This one is everything to Leo. Leo can be a ride or die friend, but they can also cut you off as fast as they welcomed you in. Loyalty in friendship means everything to Leo, and sometimes that can be a bit brutal. If you become friends with Leo’s enemy, or date one of their exes, chances are you will be low key cut off as a long term, or inner circle friend.
Likes/Follows on social media. It’s trivial but true. Leo’s want attention, in all forms, even if we act like we are above it. When people support what we do on social media with likes/comments/follows, it feeds our internal need for approval from those we care about. Coming to our parties/events is another way to fan that flame.
Say I love you! Leo loves love and loves to spread it. If you have reached “I love you” status with a Leo, it is one of the biggest compliments a Leo can give, as it is what Leo values the most, besides a good hair day.
Respect their boundaries. While Leo sometimes seems like a sign that is always down to party, and loves spending time with friends, Leo’s also have a lot of personal boundaries that are imperative for them to have in order to recharge. When a Leo says “no,” they mean it, and are rarely willing to budge once that decision has been made.
Don’t constantly blame everything they do on being Leo. While Leo’s often have pride about being Leo, not all Leo’s are created equal. Making jokes about them being self centered occasionally can be fun, but if it becomes a habitual joke, they will begin to feel unseen for the genuine love they are holding for others. While Leo can laugh at themselves, they also need to be shown where they are valued just as much.
Honesty and integrity. While Leo loves glitz, glam, and showing off, Leo values honesty and integrity above all else.
Throw them a party! If you have listened to anything I have said so far, then it is probably obvious, Leo loves a good time and being valued for who they are. Surprise parties are a sure way into any Leo’s heart, especially if everyone they truly love shows up!
So there you have it folks. A short but straightforward guide on how to love your favorite Leo! We are a fun bunch, but we can be high maintenance friends to have. So to all of you out there who make time for us and love us, Thank you! We know we are diva’s!
