Power to the People, Your Astrocast 12/21-12/27

Happy Yule! Merry Solstice! Happy Birthday Capricorn babes!

Well folx, we are officially in Capricorn season! This time of year was and has been very sacred in many traditions. It is a time where the veil is considered thin and our connection to ancestors is incredibly powerful.

Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign of the Zodiac, ruling the 10th house and ruled by the planet Saturn. In Capricorn we learn the value in structure, discipline, hard work, authority, rules and traditions. Capricorn dominant people tend to be very determined to get ahead in whatever way they deem as valuable. They often are good at honoring the "old" ways, and upholding rules, structure, and boundaries.

The astrology this week is no small occurrence as we have our grand conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the fixed air sign of Aquarius on the same day as the solstice. On top of that we also have a first quarter Moon in Aries. There is a magnificent rebirth happening in the cosmic heavens. This is a time where we will see a complete reformation on political and social structures. While it may take years to see the actual effect of all of the changes taking place, this is a pivotal time for humanity. Jupiter in the sign of Aquarius is considered to be a humanitarian and visionary placement. Saturn in Aquarius wants new systems that look towards the future to be established and put into place. We are looking towards a year ahead filled with social uprise and political change as well as technological and environmental advancements.

The mythology of Jupiter and Saturn matches up well with what we can expect over the next year. Saturn, or Kronos as he is also known, was known for being the consort of Gaia, aka Earth.

The children that Saturn and Earth created were horrific and ugly creatures to Saturn, and so he ate all of them upon birth. When Jupiter was of age, he took it upon himself to overthrow and kill his father, to free all of his brothers and sisters from the hellaish depths of his belly. We see this in the archetypal pattern of Saturn and Jupiter in the birth chart. Saturn often represents the father, and patriarchal structures or concepts that can at times feel limiting. Jupiter as ruler of Sagittarius represents the search for expansion and freedom. With Saturn and Jupiter making a grand conjunction in the community oriented sign of Aquarius, we experience the fall of the old ways, and the birth of a new and advanced future. Aquarius also being co-ruled by Uranus, we experience a new vision of the future that requires revolution and community leadership.

On an individual level, you can find Aquarius in your birth chart, and know that this area in your life will be a central theme for you in the coming year.

Winter Solstice

Yule

Moon in Pisces

Sun enters Capricorn 2:02 am

Moon void of course sextile Pluto in Capricorn 2:25 am

Jupiter in Aquarius conjunct Saturn in Aquarius 10:21 am

Moon enters Aries 2:32 pm

Moon sextile Saturn in Aquarius 3:33 pm

First Quarter Moon in Aries 3:41 pm

Moon square Mercury in Capricorn 6:04 pm

I ate up most of the beginning entry to this blog discussing all of the transits for today and the influence they have on our culture. Read the beginning portion for more. But for this spot, we are experiencing a cosmic rebirth and shift in the collective consciousness. It is time for us to take our power back as a people, and overthrow systems of oppression. We will begin to see more and more drastic poverty and inequality of wealth in this country, but with that will come the rise of the people striking and unionizing to shift us into systems that hopefully benefit us all more in the end

With the first quarter Moon in Aries, there is a rebirth of Identity for all of us on a cosmic level. We may feel that we need to begin relating to the unknown of the future in a new and aggressive way. It is not serving us to wait for “help” from our leaders, as they seem to be unable to agree on what is best for us. When our government fails to take care of us, we have no choice as a people but to teach our government how. I foresee more protesting and workers strikes if our government fails to show up for the people this year on a whole. We will see a lot of changes taking place when it comes to how we view progress. A lot of money will be put into science and companies that are focused on the vision of the future that fits the agenda of those in charge.

Tuesday 12/22

Moon in Aries

Moon conjunct Chiron in Aries 12:24 am

Moon trine Venus in Sagittarius 7:56 am

We will still feel the frequency of the First Quarter Moon in Aries today. This is a positive day to take action in areas of your life you may have been neglecting, especially when it comes to personal health and empowerment. Find ways to expand your personal self awareness into territory you may have been unable to perceive. Find new and creative ways to relate to yourself. Give yourself something new and exciting to look forward to that is out of the ordinary mundane routine.

Wednesday 12/23

Moon in Aries

Mars in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn 6:53 am

Moon square Pluto in Capricorn 2:37 pm

Moon void of course conjunct Mars in Aries 2:51 pm

Mercury in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries 6:11 pm

Tension and reactivity are in the air today with Mars making a hard aspect to Pluto and Mercury making a hard aspect to Chiron. It is easy to take things personally today, or to project our desires in an aggressive and selfish manner. We may feel frustrated and irritable with anything that does not feel to be going “our” way. There is opportunity for us to be more aware of how our impatience can hurt our relationships and circumstances. It would benefit us to work heat through the body through physical activity and exercise if we are feeling tension or irritability. Go for a walk, and be mindful with how you communicate. This is not a good day for trying to race around and assert yourself. This is a day where that kind of behavior will have consequences that are reminding you on where to slow down.

Thursday 12/24

Moon enters Taurus 2:55 am

Moon square Saturn in Aquarius 4:31 am

Moon square Jupiter in Aquarius 5:10 am

Moon trine Sun in Capricorn 9:48 am

Moon trine Mercury in Capricorn 3:57 pm

Moon conjunct Uranus rx 4:56 pm

Mercury in Capricorn trine Uranus rx in Taurus 11:05 pm

This is a positive day for financial planning and strategizing. Especially when it comes to our future and present goals. We benefit from setting intentions when it comes to our physical and material world that are in harmony with promoting health and stability for the future. We may have to be open to seeing things in a new way with Mercury making a trine to Uranus. Some unexpected changes could take place regarding our finances and work situation, so it is best we are open to finding creative ways to go with the flow of change, and finding ways to make things work.

Friday 12/25

Moon in Taurus

Moon inconjunct Venus in Sagittarius 3:49 am

Moon sextile Neptune in Pisces 4:10 pm

Sun in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries 11:37 pm

Materialism and insecurities around how we get our wants and needs met may be something we are focused on over the coming days. It is Christmas for many of us and a lot of us are unable to afford things that in previous years we may have had more easily. This is probably one of the hardest holiday seasons in recent history for many Americans, and one that many people will remember and reflect on as a dark time. With our Sun making a hard aspect to Chiron, these insecurities may feel like they are getting a big light reflected down onto them. It is important we find ways to stay grounded in gratitude for small things, even if things feel depressing and bleak. Reach out to those you love who may be alone this holiday season, or feeling depressed. Check in on your loved ones, friends, family, and neighbors.

Saturday 12/26

Moon in Taurus

Moon void of course trine Pluto in Capricorn 3:32 am

Moon enters Gemini 3:33 pm

Moon trine Saturn in Aquarius 5:41 pm

Moon trine Jupiter in Aquarius 6:54 pm

We could feel a large desire to socialize or connect with friends with our Moon in Gemini making a trine to both Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius. We benefit from digital dates with friends and family, or phone calls checking in with loved ones. We could feel prone to anxiety as the day progresses so it is positive for us to do things that give our busy minds somewhere to stabilize and feel grounded, whether this is by staying productive and chipping away at projects, or going for a grounding walk in nature.

Sunday 12/27

Moon in Gemini

Moon sextile Chiron in Aries 1:31 am

Moon inconjunct Sun in Capricorn 3:53 am

Moon inconjunct Mercury in Capricorn 1:33 pm

Sun in Capricorn trine Uranus rx in Taurus 7:25 pm

Moon opposition Venus in Sagittarius 10:47 pm

Our perception of success within the collective narrative may be changing during the next few days. What our previous goals may have been for ourselves, could be taking a drastic turn after the kind of year we have had. Be open minded to seeing yourself in a new way within the material reality. Be inspired and motivated to get your mundane structures and routines into a place that promotes growth and stability. While not everyone in our lives may “get” why we feel the way we feel, or what we are beginning to gravitate towards, it is important we listen to the inner voice.
