At the beginning of the week we may feel like we are having a hard time when it comes to where we feel like we can control the direction of our lives. It is important that we begin to work through areas that feel personally stifling to us. We are being asked to let go and release a lot of tension around identity in the days ahead with our Sun in Leo making hard aspects to Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn all retrograde in Capricorn.
On Tuesday we have a Last Quarter Moon at 19 degrees of Taurus, and Uranus stationing retrograde in Taurus at 10 degrees come Saturday.
The last time Uranus was retrograde was August 12th 2019 - January 10th 2020. Around the time that Uranus was about to station direct at the very beginning of the year, we were in the middle of trying to impeach the president of the United States! The day that Uranus stationed direct on the 10th of January, an Iranian Missile had an accidental misfire and brought down a Ukranian jet. Initially the Ukraine thought it was a US missile making tensions high and putting us at threat of a potential war. There was so much build up at the beginning of the year between China, Russia, and the USA as well, we had no idea what was going to come next. It seems so long ago now to think back to the very end of 2019 where we were so close to an impeachment and a potential war. It would only be a couple months later that we as a world would be in a full blown pandemic living in a completely new and unknown world.
So how do the archetypes of Taurus and Uranus play into this story we are all living? Taurus is the fixed Earth sign of the zodiac and rules the 2nd house. The 2nd house is tied to our value systems around material security and how we acquire wealth. Taurus, being ruled by the planet Venus, also shares a relationship to our physical bodies, our health, and how we feel safe or grounded within the physical world.
Uranus rules Aquarius along with Saturn, and is a planet that often is dubbed “ The Destroyer.” It is considered to be one of the “crisis planets” and has an archetypal influence of the rebel, the agent of change, the catalyst into new and unusual territory. It breaks apart the old, it can often feel like total and utter chaos.
When I was doing some episodes on the Energetic Principals podcast, we discussed Uranus in Taurus being a time when all of the old structures we have been used to will begin crumble and fall away, and not even a full year into Uranus in Taurus, we have experienced that very reality.
With Uranus stationing retrograde this week, we can think back to that August 12-January 10th period and the stage that was built for everything that has transpired since.
We may experience more falling away, more change, more deconstruction of what was familiar.
We think of the Tower card in the tarot representing the energy for the end of the year, especially as Mars continues its way in Aries for the remainder of 2020. Hang on tight, we have a long way to go before this chaos is over!
With the Last Quarter Moon in Taurus hitting on Tuesday, this is a good time to make peace with the fact that we are not able to control a lot right now. We may have to figure out a way to build a new idea of what security and normal means to us.
On a lighter note, this week we have some fun transits between our Sun and Mercury in Leo, and Mars in Aries. We may feel a lot of ambition, determination, and drive to take charge or control in our lives around things we are passionate about. We may need to be mindful with how we assert ourselves with others, as we can be easily full of ourselves and project a lot of intensity if not careful. Think of the Knight of Wands and Knight of Swords archetypes being a central theme this week!
Our need for growth and overcoming obstacles is a big focus for us in the days ahead. Use any extra energy coming your way to find joy in what IS working well. Things are going to continue to change, and change fast. Find a way to roll with the punches and create a plan that is mutable to more of the unknown surprises that await us all.

Misunderstandings are possible today with our planet of communication, Mercury making a hard aspect to Uranus in Taurus. We could get some unexpected or surprising news, we could also find ourselves in an argument we were not anticipating. With Mercury in Leo, we may have a hard time letting go of our point of view or position.
Today we also may feel a need for freedom and expansion with our Sun making a hard aspect to Jupiter. We could feel frustrated with anything standing in our way. It's important that we value that all good things take time. Do what you can to fulfill the need for creative expression, but try to be patient where things are not going your way.

This is a good day for kicking any bad spending or eating habits that are not promoting our well being.

Sun in Leo makes a hard aspect to Pluto, and let me tell you, I have been under this transit all year!! Pluto in Capricorn has been inconjunct my Sun all of 2020 and I have had a total deconstruction of Self this year. It has been incredibly hard and painful, but I also can see the wisdom in this growth in my life. I have challenged myself and been challenged in ways I never thought I would put myself through and I can say the version of myself that is going to emerge from this year will be stronger than ever! For all of us experiencing this on a collective level, it is hard for us to let go of the self we were trying to build that may have been derailed by outside circumstances. We have to learn to find our power amidst the chaos. We have to surrender to the unknown and step into the alchemical fires of calcination. Burn away the dreams of the past, it is time to envision a new future.
Uranus stations retrograde today and will be until January 18th 2021. We may experience some major changes within the environmental and economic structure that mimic some of the things we have already been through this year.

Our Sun in Leo makes a trine to Mars in Aries today. This gives us a lot of energy to be productive and get things done. I think of the Knight of Wands energy for this transit. We could feel a sense of urgency or passion for a project or task we are working on. Mercury in Leo also makes a trine to Mars in Aries today. We need to be mindful with how we assert our communication as we could come off overly assertive or aggressive, but with Leo there is also room for a lot of passion, play, and creativity, so this could be a day that opens us up for a lot of positivity and laughter if we allow it.
Venus in Cancer makes a hard square to Chiron retrograde in Aries which could have us feeling overly sensitive in our relationships. With all of the Leo energy in the atmosphere we might need a lot of validation from family or loved ones that we are valued.
