Virgo Season, Your Weekly Astrocast 8/24-8/30

It's Virgo Season!!!! Happy Birthday to all of the Virgo’s out there! My own mother is a Virgo, so you could say I am pretty much an expert when it comes to understanding your needs….ha!

These last few weeks in California have been rough. My heart is broken for all of the fires here and have been constantly on edge that one is going to happen here in Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree. The reality of climate change is hitting us smack dab in the face, and I am just so saddened that we are living in a world where our leaders refuse to do things that protect the earth. Virgo is the perfect sign for us to begin taking our roles in society seriously when it comes to the environment and being stewards of her.

Virgo is the mutable earth sign in the zodiac ruling the 6th house of routine, service, and health. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury and is known for having an eye for detail, and a brain for problem solving. Virgo is hyper focused on routine, organization, and seeing the bigger picture. Virgo people can sometimes obsess over the details, and benefit from stepping away and surrendering to what they can’t control. While Virgo tends to always focus on the well being of others, it can forget sometimes to prioritize themselves. Virgo’s are known for being a bit overly judgmental and critical of others, but only because they have such high standards for themselves.

Ceres the goddess of the harvest, is often associated with Virgo. Ceres the Planetoid is also a known ruler of Virgo as well, and often represents our relationship with our mothers in our birth charts, in succession with the Moon. We also see in Ceres how we nurture ourselves and others, a quality of Virgo that is sometimes forgotten.

If you want  to make the Virgo in your life happy here are a few basic guidelines you can follow:

  • Don’t interfere with their need to schedule things!

  • Be on time….nothing worse than making a Virgo wait!

  • Clean up after yourself...Virgos hate clutter, and look down upon those they have to clean up after, but because they’re a service oriented sign they will do all of the dirty work, while still judging you silently!

  • Caring about others and the environment! Virgo finds comfort in being of service to others and enjoys surrounding themselves with others who feel the same.

  • Detail oriented planning and communication…..Virgo needs to mitigate risk by weighing out options and scenarios, it gives them a sense of comfort when they feel they have picked the best option before moving forward. Please your Virgo friends by seeing this as a strength, even though it may take a little longer to get things going.

  • Physical exercise and work out dates, Virgo’s love to stick to a health regiment and benefit from social activities that get their bodies moving.

This week is another jam packed week of transits. Monday we hit the day off with Mercury making an inconjunct to Chiron in Aries, and Mars in Aries making a square to Saturn in Capricorn. Tuesday we have our First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius, while Mercury in Virgo makes a trine to Uranus in Taurus, with Venus in Cancer in opposition to Jupiter in Capricorn. Thursday Venus in Cancer makes a trine to Neptune in Pisces. Saturday Mercury in Virgo makes a trine to Jupiter in Capricorn, and last but not least, Sunday we have two oppositions. One between Venus and Pluto and the other between Mercury and Neptune.

It will be a roller coaster week. We may feel frustrated and driven one day, while the next filled with optimism and motivation to plan for the future. Take any boost in energy to chip away at those goals you are setting while also working in some down time for fun and rejuvenation. There is a lot of potential for things to not go the way we were planning, but a bigger vision, and better plan could unfold out of the surprising turn of events. 2020 is a hard year to plan for, so we benefit in finding ways to find opportunities in the midst of the chaos.

We start the day off healing wounds around how we communicate who we are! Mercury our planet of communication, makes a hard aspect to Chiron, our wounded healer. Mercury is strong in Virgo, and enables us to see the bigger picture. We are able to problem solve efficiently when it comes to how we are viewing problems in relation to identity and sense of self. We benefit from taking this energy to be humble about where we could improve our perceptions of self, and how we build our lives. It is easy to feel victimized by outside circumstances. It is harder to take responsibility for where we can do our part. Find a way to assess in your life where you can take responsibility for your own actions.

With Mars making a hard aspect to Saturn today as well, we may have a hard time bumping up against things out of our control. We may be trying to take action in our lives, but finding roadblock after roadblock...a common theme for the year. This is not the best day for making any huge or major life decisions. This is a good day to assess and strategize where we can make plans that are realistic for what we can and can't control right now.
