Nothing Lasts Forever, Your Astrocast 1/11-1/17

Blessings mystics and seekers!

Wow, the first week of January was a doozy to say the least. I can’t say I am surprised. As I am sure most of you who follow astrology saw, the day the Capitol take over happened, was also the day that Mars finally made its way from Aries into the fixed earth sign of Taurus. As our political and social climate continues to escalate, our astrological transits are guiding the story along as if it was written in the stars for years.

On a personal level, last week on Friday when Mercury and Mars squared off, the main pipe running water to my house burst. Because I live in a small rural town, getting a plumber out here in a timely manner is not really an option. I have had no running water in my house since Friday. Hopefully things will be fixed today (Monday), but seeing the transits of the week, I am not going to expect things to be solved so quickly. This is one way that astrology can be fun, but also a disappointing tool for self reflection. Mercury is in my house of money, and Mars is in the house that rules my home. So it’s not a huge surprise that something happened on that day, but it still surprised me!

Of course the Mercury lesson came from how my husband and I navigated our communication around the financial aspects of dealing with the problem. Trying to find the most cost effective way, while also not wanting to hire someone who isn't reputable in the community. Because I know that these areas of my chart are going to be activated with difficult transits all week, I am expecting there to be more issues with the pipe and for it to cost more than we are hoping. Having astrology to help me plan for a worse case scenario, helps me not get my hopes up. Just an example of how some of these transits affect us on a personal and mundane level.

This week is no different when it comes to drama. We have so many transits involving chaotic and over the top energy, we are likely to watch more blasphemy ensue in the week ahead. On a personal level, we could feel like things are extra hard or frustrating right now.

Monday 1/11

Moon enters Capricorn 5:30 am

Moon trine Mars in Taurus 9:16 am

Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius 9:19 am

Moon conjunct Venus in Capricorn 12:14 pm

Moon trine Uranus rx in Taurus 4:51 pm

We start our week off with the Moon making its way into Capricorn and entering what is referred to as the Balsamic phase. This is the phase that occurs right before a New Moon, and is said to be the best time for cord cutting rituals, as well as banishing rituals of any type of negative energy. Once the New Moon hits tomorrow, and we get to the waxing side, we are called upon to set intentions towards what it is we wish to manifest. In the coming month. The sign of the Moon will dictate what energy we are to focus on during this time. With Capricorn being the sign, we are being asked to focus on things in our practical and mundane reality. This could be everything from work/financial goals, to basic things that need to be taken care of in our physical reality. Ace of Pentacles, 2 of Pentacles, and 3 of Pentacles all hold a Capricorn frequency in the tarot and call for us to embrace where we have material resources to get our lives in order.

Mercury, our planet of communication, makes a conjunction to Jupiter, our planet of expansion. This is a transit that is often associated with optimism and a need to pursue new educational terrain. We may feel inspired to learn something new, or to teach something we have learned. We may feel some optimism about the future as we brainstorm ways that we can try to progress within our own lives.

Because Mercury and Jupiter are in the fixed air sign of Aquarius, there is an emphasis on our community and the collective. We may feel our inner activist getting fired up and wanting to contribute more to society.

Tuesday 1/12

Moon in Capricorn

Mercury in Aquarius square Uranus rx in Taurus 7 am

Moon sextile Neptune in Pisces 1:17 pm

New Moon at 23 degrees of Capricorn 9 pm

Moon void of course conjunct Pluto in Capricorn 11:22 pm

Mercury, our planet of communication, makes a hard aspect to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. This is an unfavorable time for signing contracts, making any concrete decisions that are reactive, impulsive, or not thought out. We need to be extremely cautious with how we communicate. Anxiety could be heightened and we could find ourselves having reactions to things that we normally wouldn't be as bothered by. This is an important day to go with the flow and to expect the unexpected.

Our New Moon in Capricorn hits in the evening at 23 degrees of Capricorn, this Moon as it stations void of course, will also make a conjunction with Pluto this evening. This is an extremely powerful time for setting intentions when it comes to your material reality. What is it that you hope to build for yourself in 2021? What structures are not working anymore that need to fall away? Regardless of what you try to hold onto, something is going to shift energetically for all of us when it comes to our physical reality. We may have to let go of plans that we thought we had all figured out in the month ahead. It is really important that we are open to seeing the road that lies before us, as unknown as it may be, and to tell the universe exactly what it is we hope to create out of the lessons unfolding.

Wednesday 1/13

Mars in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius 3:02 am

Moon enters Aquarius 8:44 am

Moon conjunct Saturn in Aquarius 2:11 pm

Moon square Mars in Taurus 2:30 pm

Venus in Capricorn trine Uranus rx in Taurus 4:22 pm

Moon in Aquarius square Uranus rx in Taurus 8:29 pm

Can I just go hide under a rock already? Mars gives a challenging aspect to Saturn in the wee hours of the morning. This is a day where it is probably best to stay home and avoid putting any pressure or expectation on your life to make sense or be in order. We will feel this frequency over the next few days, and it is a challenging one to say the least. Things may feel frustrating, hard, and like we have to fight to keep our heads above water. We benefit from turning any internal frustration into inspiration where we can but not getting too bummed on things that feel like they are not moving forward as fast as we would like them to. It takes a while for a garden to bloom. We are not in bloom territory right now, we are in seed planting mode. Try to see your daily actions and build into something slowly over time. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to have it all handled or figured out. Keep chipping away at the hard work where you can, and give yourself a big effing break. You are surviving a pandemic, and a huge social collapse. If you’re still getting up every morning and doing the bare minimum, at this point you are a rock star!

Venus making a trine to Uranus rx today could help ease a bit of the aforementioned tension we are under by giving us some creative inspiration when it comes to our mundane reality. Where we can control certain areas of our lives, we could feel inspired to take control of our appearance or home environment.

Thursday 1/14

Moon in Aquarius

Uranus stations direct in Taurus 12:36 am

Moon void of course conjunct Mercury in Aquarius 1:28 am

Sun conjunct Pluto in Capricorn 6:19 am

Uranus stations direct today after having been retrograde since August 15th of 2020. Uranus will be direct in the sign of Taurus until August 20th of this year. Uranus is such a slow moving planet that we tend to feel it more when there is a direct aspect hitting something in our charts, or when there is a collective transit we are under. I am hoping that with Uranus direct for these next few months, any holding patterns we have been in will begin to shift until we are under them again. Chances are this area of your chart has already been experiencing a lot of upheaval and will continue to in the year ahead. Look at where you have 6-14 degrees of Taurus in your chart to see what energy Uranus is influencing for you in your life this year. Uranus is the planet of sudden change, disruption, destruction, and surprises. It's not always bad, but it typically isn’t easy.

Our Sun also makes a combustion to Pluto today which is an intense and powerful energy to experience on a personal as well as collective level. Both the Sun and Pluto are considered extremely powerful energies, especially in a conjunction. The Sun is said to outshine any planet it conjoins with, weakening the other planets usual abilities, and Pluto is said to overpower or dominate any planet it is in conjunction with. To have both of these powerful energies in a combustion to each other is an intense energy indeed. We may feel a need to acknowledge what confidence, vitality, and power means to us in our lives. We may feel a sense of urgency to take power back into our lives, to let go of anything holding us back from stepping into our whole selves. We could feel like anything getting in the way of our ability to transform our lives into what we want needs to be done away with. This is a death transit. Something is dying and we are being asked to acknowledge the life lesson of death and rebirth.

Friday 1/15

Moon in Aquarius

Moon enters Pisces 2:17 pm

Moon sextile Mars in Taurus 10:29 pm

Our Moon enters Pisces in the afternoon asking us to focus on self care and connecting to our empathy centers in a healthy and spiritual way. This is an extremely good day for creative projects, listening to music, meditation, divination, and spiritual self care.

Saturday 1/16

Moon in Pisces

Moon sextile Uranus in Taurus 2:43 am

Moon sextile Venus in Capricorn 9:02 am

This is a positive and powerful day for creativity and artistic projects. If you are a musician or writer, you may enjoy working on music, writing a poem/song, or listening to your favorite music while you do things that are in alignment to your heart space. We may feel inspired and motivated to work on existing projects that get our creative juices flowing.

Sunday 1/17

Moon in Pisces

Moon conjunct Neptune in Pisces 1:35 am

Moon sextile Pluto in Capricorn 12:55 pm

Jupiter in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus 2:50 pm

Moon void of course sextile Sun in Capricorn 7:44 pm

Moon enters Aries 11:07 pm

We just couldn't get through the rest of this week without another banger transit. Jupiter makes a hard aspect to Uranus in Taurus which requires us to keep a cool head on our shoulders as best we can over the next couple days. We could feel irrational and impulsive. We may want to take a trip or spend money we shouldn’t be spending for instant gratification. This is not advised as we could end up regretting our decision later. We may feel a huge need for freedom today. It is advised we find constructive ways to feed that need that do not result in reckless behavior. This is a transit that is also typically related towards advice to avoid occult and psychic practices as we are ungrounded and may not see things clearly. We could easily become irrational and fanatical in ways that are harmful to ourselves or others.

Please stay safe everyone,
